The Welsh Conservatives have selected Brian Jones as their candidate in the North Wales Police and Crime Commissioner election.
Brian is a Denbighshire County Councillor and says he is keen to apply his track record for getting things done to role.
He said: “My priority will be to address the needs of the residents of North Wales, making them feel safer by having more visible policing.”
Brian, who lives in Rhyl, has pledged to reduce the cost and resources used by North Wales Police in supporting the Welsh Government’s flawed blanket 20 miles per hour policy.
He said: “I would also be a champion for rural crime prevention – and enforcement. I would work to increase the protection of livestock, crackdown on the theft of equipment from our farms and make sure fly-tippers do not get away with blighting our countryside.”
Brian, who has a background in engineering, says increased use of technology – such as improved drone surveillance would help officers catch more rural criminals.
“Having more police on the streets, around schools and in public places would help control anti-social behaviour, which is a serious concern”, he said.
Brian would also campaign to raise awareness of domestic violence and abuse, including coercive behaviour.
A pigeon racing enthusiast, Brian is a keen sports fan and is a member of Rhyl Rugby Club Projects Committee.
He has been an active member of the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal and is a founder member of Rhyl Wings Project, providing the local community with free family events.
Promoted by Bernard Gentry on behalf of Brian Jones both at CCHQ North Wales, first floor, Commodore House, North Wales Business Park, Abergele, LL22 8LJ.
