Janet Finch-Saunders has called for a statement from the Minister for Health and Social Care on persisting health issues linked to ‘long covid’. It’s estimated that in the UK, around 30% of those who contracted COVID-19, now suffer with long COVID.
Commenting on latest developments, Janet said.
“In North Wales Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board’s Long Covid Service promises to provide a range of support and clinical interventions individually tailored to patient needs.
However, their website is warning that they do have a waiting list due to large number of referrals.”
Commenting further Janet said.
“Constituents are raising concerns about access to Long Covid support, which is why I have asked the Minister for Health and Social Services to provide a statement on access to Long Covid treatment in each health board area separately. While the pandemic has come to an end, the aftermath must still receive attention if we are to ensure all citizens in Wales are back to full health.”
