Ynys Môn MP Virginia Crosbie has had a busy Welsh Conservative conference practising her Welsh by introducing the leader Andrew RT Davies to delegates in the language.
Virginia introduced Andrew as she paid tribute to his support for her in the 2019 general election and since.
During the two-day event in Newtown, she also chaired a Universities Wales event on Levelling Up along with Sam Rowlands.
Another event she chaired was Wales: Powering the Green Revolution with MS Janet Finch Saunders and Ivan Baldwin from Bechtel on the panel.
This is a topic close to Virginia’s heart as she campaigns for Anglesey to continue to develop as the Energy Isle with a new nuclear power station top of the agenda.
The conference also saw the Prime Minister attend along with the Welsh Secretary Simon Hart and the Secretary of State for Health Sajid Javid.
At a gala dinner, where special guests included the Chancellor Rishi Sunak and William Hague, Virginia said Grace in Welsh.
“It was an absolute honour to introduce - in Welsh – our leader Andrew and to talk about my priorities of jobs and investment for Anglesey in two high-level events,” said Virginia.
“It was also an opportunity to catch up with many MSs and Ynys Môn Conservative Party Members.
“It was a challenge saying Grace in Welsh but I did it. It’s another step in my journey to speak the language – something I promised I would do when I was elected and I am slowly getting there.”
Virginia said this at the dinner.
Ein Tad, Diolchwn i ti am dy gynhaliaeth di yn ein bywyd bob dydd. Am fwyd a diod, am ffrindiau da, am gwmni ein gilydd o amgylch y byrddau hyn. Bendithia’r cwbl inni yn enw Iesu dy Fab. Amen.
