Ynys Môn MP Virginia Crosbie has donated £225 to help ensure that children in and around Cemaes have access to the area’s first paediatric oximeter.
There is one such device in Amlwch but this will be the first time children in Cemaes will have access to this potentially life saving piece of equipment.
Virginia used money she earned completing surveys to donate the cash to contribute to the medical device that measures oxygen in the blood. The fundraising appeal is headed up by local community champion Keith Fitton.
Virginia joined Keith at Cemaes Harbour Wall on Friday to help with fundraising and to help Santa give presents to local children.
“It was great fun dressing up as an elf and helping Santa with his important role while raising more funds for this good local cause to buy oximeters for GP surgeries on the island,” said Virginia.
“Unfortunately, the sea was a little too rough for Santa to come by boat this year but we received help from Gez Owen of Cemaes Coast Guard to get to the harbour and excited children.
“I was very happy to help buy an oximeter. All the money I receive from completing surveys is given to local good causes on Anglesey. If you feel you could benefit, please get in touch.”
