Today the International Trade Secretary is discussing trade deals with key countries, showing the world that Britain is open for business as we prepare to leave the European Union.
Key facts: The International Trade Secretary will be meeting with counterparts in key countries to ensure continuity of trade for UK businesses trading with nations covered by existing EU trade agreements.
· Over the next two days, meetings will be held with trade ministers from South Korea, Hong Kong, Canada, Colombia and Israel among others.
· This drive follows significant progress made in finalising continuity trade agreements with Australia, New Zealand and Switzerland over the past few weeks.
· The visit to Davos comes as Deloitte have launched a new report confirming the UK’s position as Europe’s leading destination for Foreign Direct Investment – attracting more in the three years between 2015 and 2017 than Germany and France combined
