On May 17th Janet Finch-Saunders attended the Science and the Senedd 2022 event held by the Royal Society of Chemistry. The event aimed to promote the notion of building a bigger, better Wales harnessed by homegrown research and innovation.
During her speech at the event, Janet said;
“Wales can be a beacon for research and innovation. Promoting high skilled jobs and green investment could be what makes our nation stand out on the world stage. Times have changed and STEM subjects are rightly being recognised as a leading gateway to a better improved society.”
Janet added further;
“We need to make better use of the tools at hand and push our universities and institutions to be world beating. We need to envisage a Wales beyond its current measurement and back our young people as they seek to change the world for the better.”
Janet has long championed green sector growth and high skilled jobs to replace old industries in Wales. Within her portfolio, The Shadow Minister for Climate Change has suggested the implication of innovation hubs across Wales which can attract business growth and private investment. Janet will continue with her efforts to see these hubs implemented during the next Parliamentary term.
