Aberconwy MP Guto Bebb today attended Ysgol Nant y Coed to present prizes to the winners of a picture competition to design a T-shirt to be worn by charity cyclist Steve Foster.
Steve Foster will be cycling 11,074 miles around the UK coast in his effort to raise awareness and money for the charity Mental Health Research UK.
In an effort to publicise the event locally Steve held a competition inviting local schools to design a logo to encapsulate the event. The winners were chosen by Guto Bebb MP and the winning designs have been made into t-shirts to be worn by Steve on his journey.
Steve, originally from Gloucestershire, has received fantastic support from the Llandudno Swimming Centre who helped organise the competition and have supported Steve during his training regime.
Steve’s journey begins on 25th July. He will begin and end his cycle ride outside 10 Downing Street.
Guto met Steve again today to present the prizes to winning entrants Francesca Roberts and Honey Copland, both pupils at Ysgol Nant y Coed.
Mr. Bebb said, “I was very impressed by the standard of the entries submitted. The two winning entries were chosen as, in my view, their colourful designs captured the message that this is a UK wide issue. I wish Steve every success and hope to welcome him on his return to Aberconwy in around 5 months’ time.”
